Take a phrasebook. Even if you think you’ll be surrounded by mostly English speakers, it’s better to know the very basics lest you find yourself in a foreign country lost and unable to ask for help. Ones like this especially are recommended but if you want to travel as lightly as possible, download the DuoLingo app- which is free and get the basics down before you leave!
